DNA, KIKAO Youth Movement announces formal union to empower Kenya’s next generation of leaders

NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 6 – The Democratic National Alliance (DNA) Party has announced a strategic partnership with the KIKAO Youth Movement poised to reshape landscape of youth political engagement in Kenya, the integration establishes DNA as official political home for new generation of leaders with KIKAO’s grassroots network formally becoming foundation of newly launched DNA Youth Movement.

DNA party leader Hon. Godfrey Kanoti made the announcement in a press briefing in Nairobi highlighting urgent need for the Youth empowerment in political inclusion.

“Today is a revolutionary Movement,  we gather to mark the formal union of Democratic National Alliance and the KIKAO Youth Movement, this is a turning point a signal to the nation that Kenya’s Youth are no longer knocking on doors. You are opening your own”. He said.

KIKAO CEO and Chairperson, Bright Shitemi underscored the movement’s mission as a continuation of remarkable efforts of young people who said enough to corruption, poor governance and attempt to destroy democracy gains.

“The entry of KIKAO into DNA ushers a timely injection of new generation aspirants and leaders into the political space, this is the party for the youth, for all Kenyans that hope for a better future together we will change the DNA of our leadership and our country”, said Mr. Shitemi.

Additionally, Individuals from the KIKAO Youth Movement have been appointed to key leadership position in the Democratic National Alliance whereby Chepkoech Towett appointed Deputy Party leader, Bright Shitemi Deputy National Chairperson, Stanley Muchiri Secretary National Policy and Economic Affairs, James Okuku Secretary Political Affairs, Eugene Ochieng Secretary Mobilization, Partnership and Fundraising and Jagero Oduor Secretary Publicity and Information.

“The partnership with KIKAO is a strategic pillar of DNA’s vision, KIKAO is not a slogan its a Movement with muscle active in 40 counties with thousands of committed members KIKAO has done the grassroots work that most parties ignore by integrating KIKAO into DNA we are supercharging our youth engine ahead of 2027”, said Hon. Kanoti.

“Your generation is tired of tokenism, we are tired of gatekeeping where old system protect the same tired faces at your expense, DNA is not just welcoming you we are investing in you”.

The newly formed DNA Youth Movement will serve as a robust platform for political education, mentorship and leadership pathways calling for action for the nation’s Gen Z and Milennials.

“You are not the future, you are the present and you will no longer ask for permission to lead 2027 will be the youth Tsunami the only question is will you be part of the wave or will you watch it pass you by? The time for frustration has passed the time for power is here”.
