NAIROBI, Kenya, June 27 – The New Generational Aspirants (NGA) party convened a Leadership and Governance Conference to Sensitize the Youth on the crucial issues sidelined by the current leaders.
Prof. PLO Lumumba while presiding over the event encouraged the Youth to go for elective positions regardless of the challenges faced in the political environment.
“I strongly believe that our country needs a generational change, We have had inpositions of leadership men and women who have refused to leave the stage with the consequencethat our country cannot realize our potential am here to tell our young men and women that the time is now, the time is now for them to go out there and to demonstrate to this country”, he said.
Prof Lumumba further noted that he had the opportunity to talk to the young people and he has no doubt in mind that they can do it.
“They want to do it because they know thatwe have squandered opportunities and it is our duty to help them to do so It pains me to no end When individuals who have been in the political of space for 20 years still parade themselves as the solution to Kenyan problems”.
“The solution lies in the hands of young people guided by old and well-meaning people”.
Dr. Ben Ngigi the National Treasurer, NGA stated that the event aimed at training young people on issues to do with leadership and governance.
“Matters that we are talking about is actually advocating for good leadership, good governance, accountability and progress for this nation”, said Mr Ngigi.
National Chairperson of the New Generation Aspirants NGA, John Kamau said that young aspirants are bringing in a different voice.
“We are mobilizing differently to take up our Camp 2027 In as much as we are disgruntled with the way the country is being run, we cannot keep losing young people, We must come up with a strategy that not only preserves life but guarantees us the change that we are seeking for”, said Kamau.
New Generation Aspirants called upon Kenyans, to support their cause as young people have demonstrated that given an opportunity they can be able to transform this country.
“We want a Kenyan dream as young people and that’s what we’ve been fighting for We want a country where every Kenyan can actually dream, We want to live in a country where honestly justice is rewarded and done according to the rule of law”.
