Jumbo Chem Kenya Marks 15-Year Milestone with Major ESG Project at Kasunguni Secondary School
MAKUENI, Kenya, May 22 – East Africa’s leading thermal insulation and soundproofing manufacturer, Jumbo Chem Kenya Limited, Marking a major milestone in its fifteen years of operations has officially commissioned its anniversary Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) project at Kasunguni Secondary School.
The initiative underscores the company’s long-term commitment to uplifting local communities through targeted educational infrastructure investments, By completing a full-scale insulation of the school’s infrastructure to improve the learning environment for over 400 students.
Before the intervention, Kasunguni Secondary School’s iron-sheet classrooms and dormitories reached peak indoor temperatures exceeding 34°C during the day and dropped to 14°C during the night.
These conditions severely impaired students’ concentration during the day and chest congestions caused by extreme coldness at night. Thermal Roof Insulation completed for today’s reveal, Jumbo Chem fitted Jumbolene® roof insulation across every classroom, dining hall and dormitory on campus.
Additionally, The high-specification installation has successfully reduced indoor temperatures by up to 10°C during peak hours, at zero cost to the school or the Makueni County government.

Amb. Dennis Awori, Board Chair of Jumbo Chem Kenya, during the official ribbon-cutting ceremony emphasized the company’s duty to the natio as a corporate, they have a responsibility to the communities they operate within and its ESG goals make that responsibility concrete.
“Fifteen years of business in Kenya means fifteen years of drawing from Kenyan communities. Kasunguni Secondary School is our way of giving something meaningful back to the community. We chose to mark this milestone not with a celebration, but with an investment in the next generation”, said Amb Awori.
Jumbo Chem Kenya, Chairman highlighted the long-term socio economic impact of the initiative.

Underscoring the significance of the initiative, the event was witnessed by key stakeholders from both government and industry. Among the dignitaries present were high-ranking officials from the Kenya Association of Manufacturers (KAM), the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), and administrative representatives from the host administration of Makueni County.
Further, Jumbo Chem leadership urged the private sector and other firms to prioritize community-rooted growth.
