Hon. Joab Manyasi unveiled as Democratic National Alliance (DNA) candidate for Malava Constituency By-Election
NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 2 – The Democratic National Alliance (DNA) has unveiled Hon. Joab Manyasi officially as its candidate for the upcoming Malava Constituency by-election in a ceremony held on Friday 1st August 2025 at the party headquarters in Karen, Nairobi.
Hon. Manyasi previously contested the Malava parliamentary seat in 2017 under Ford Kenya and again in 2022 under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), With a professional career spanning both Kenya and Uganda he brings experience, grassroots insight and a people-first agenda to his candidacy.
Malava by-election follows a vacancy declared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and is expected to be scheduled later this year.
In a strategic bold move, Hon. Manyasi has aligned himself with the DNA Party under the leadership of Party Leader Hon. Godfrey Kanoti and Secretary General Hon. Barrack Muluka. With his wealth of experience, leadership He is poised to carry the DNA Party’s vision and values to the people of Malava.
The unveiling marked DNA’s strategic expansion in Western Kenya and reflects the party’s commitment to nurturing homegrown accountable leadership.

Hon. Manyasi in his acceptance speech pledged to be a voice for the ordinary citizen, emphasizing the importance of inclusive representation and servant leadership.
“I come from the soil of Malava, I have walked the same roads, stood in the same queues and experienced the frustration of unfulfilled promises”, he said.
“The people of Malava need a leader who will listen, especially to our farmers, our women, and our youth, I am ready to work for the people of Malava and I will work hand in hand with the DNA Party to ensure that their voices are not just heard, but acted upon”, added Hon. Manyasi.
Further, He noted that the campaign is not just about votes but about voice, dignity and real development.
