IMCTC launches Advanced Training Program on Counter Terrorism Financing and Anti-Money Laundering
NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 3 – The Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) has officially launched a five-day advanced training program in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, titled “Counter Terrorism Financing and Anti-Money Laundering Advanced Level.”
The opening ceremony was distinguished by the presence of the Deputy Commander of Kenya’s Army, Major General Mohamed Nur Hassan, underscoring the high-level collaboration and strategic importance of this joint effort to combat financial crimes supporting terrorism.
The program targets a select group of specialists from the banking, financial and security sectors, including financial compliance directors, financial investigators, and officials responsible for anti-money laundering and terrorism financing, in addition to personnel from regulatory and supervisory authorities.
The five-day program features a comprehensive set of advanced technical and leadership themes with themes including international legal frameworks governing financial crime, modern techniques of terrorism financing and complex money-laundering mechanisms.
Additionally, It emphasizes the use of digital technologies for detection and analysis, alongside essential soft skills such as leadership skills and effective compliance management practices specifically tailored for financial institutions.
It also brings together practical applications, case studies, and intensive specialized exercises that enhance participants’ abilities to track suspicious financial flows, analyze complex patterns and apply approved international standards.
