Jubilee Party appoints Dr. Fred Matiang’i as Deputy Party Leader, Endorses him as 2027 Presidential Candidate

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 30 – The Jubilee Party National Executive Committee (NEC) in a meeting convened at the Party Headquarters in Nairobi chaired by Party Leader H.E Uhuru Kenyatta, has appointed Dr. Fred Matiang’i as the Deputy Party Leader and Presidential Candidate in the 2027 general election.

Acting on the guidance of the Party Leader Uhuru Kenyatta and with the approval of the NEC, Dr. Matiang’i will represent the Party within the United Opposition, supported by Party Chairperson Mr. Saitoti Torome, reaffirming Jubilee’s steadfast commitment to the opposition front.

According to NEC, Dr. Matiang’i has formally submitted his application to the NEC for consideration as the Jubilee Party Presidential Candidate, and his application has been endorsed.

The National Executive Committee After extensive deliberations has resolved to fill all vacant positions within the National Executive Committee as follows:

Deputy Party Leader: Dr. Fred Matiang’i

Executive Director: Mr. Kagwe Gichohi

Senate Whip: Hon. Ekomwa James Lomenen

National Assembly Party Whip: Hon.Samwel Arama.

Further, NEC has approved a comprehensive plan to revamp and re-energize the Jubilee Party through a nationwide mass membership registration and mobilization campaign.

This initiative will focus on strengthening the party’s grassroots networks, rebuilding public confidence and reaffirming Jubilee’s commitment to the values of unity, development and democracy.

Jubilee Party states that it will formally communicate to the leadership of the United Opposition regarding the nomination of Dr. Fred Matiang’i as the official representative within the movement.

“The party reiterates its full commitment to the principles and objectives of the United Opposition, working collectively with like-minded political formations to build a strong, united and people-centered alternative for Kenya”.
