UDA awards Samuel Nyagah nomination certificate for the upcoming Ol Kalou by-election

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 14 – United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has officially issued a Certificate of Nomination to Samuel Muchina Nyagah following the decisive victory in the Party’s primaries affirming his position as the Party’s candidate for the Ol Kalou Constituency by-election scheduled for 16th July 2026.

Samuel Muchina Nyagah emerged as the UDA party flagbearer for the Ol Kalou by-election after winning the party nominations with 3,221 votes.

He was closely followed by George Wambugu Kanuri, popularly known as Delight, who garnered 3,077 votes, while Peter Njoroge Mugo finished third with 1,049 votes.

The highly contested race attracted 10 aspirants with voter turnout remaining low only about 8,000 votes cast compared to the 72,000 registered voters in Ol Kalou Constituency during the 2022 General Election.

Mr. Nyagah in his acceptance speech described the nomination exercise as free and transparent calling on his fellow aspirants to unite and work together to ensure that UDA secures victory in the July 16 by-election.

Other candidates included Mary Nyokabi Kamau (406), Peter Chuchu Njuguna (158), Maina Kiambati (96), Joseph Ndirangu (90), Ezekiah Kamweru (66), Daniel Ndungu (52) and Stanley Mwangi (43).

“We have completed our internal democratic process, and our focus shifts to the grassroots as we prepare to deploy our political architecture and a well-coordinated campaign to win the vote and confidence of the Ol Kalou electorate”, said Party’s Secretary General Hassan Omar.

Omar added that campaign will be built on an unwavering commitment to the Bottom Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), inclusive development, and tangible progress that leaves no Ol Kalou resident behind.

“We have confidence in the candidate and laud the National Elections Board (NEB) for conducting free, fair, and credible nominations with only one dispute lodged and successfully adjudicated upon by Dr. Adrian Kamotho-led Electoral and Nomination Dispute Resolution Committee (ENDRC)”.

Nyandarua County Woman Representative, Hon. Faith Gitau expressed her gratitude to President William Ruto for development projects across Nyandarua County.
