Hajj 2026: 5,000 Kenyans expected to participate in the Hajj 2026 in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
NAIROBI, Kenya, Aug 25- The Kenya Hajj Mission under the Supreme Council of Kenya Muslims (SUPKEM) has successfully completed phase one of Hajj 2026 preparations and announced participation in the “Early Bird” scheme which will help secure prime locations in Mina and Arafat.
While addressing journalists on Sunday 24th August 2025 in Nairobi, Kenya Hajj Mission commended registered Hajj agents and Pilgrims who raised necessary funds for the purchase of locations in Mina and Arafat as well as for basic services such as tents, beds and Meals.
Saleem Kadernani of Al-Miraj Hajj Agency highlighted that with Saudi government successfully managing to restrict illegal Pilgrims who often overcrowd the Holy sites ensuring that fully paid-up pilgrims receive the services they deserve.
“For the Hajj Mission, We are committed to full adherence to all requirements and timelines as stipulated in various communications from the Hajj Ministry “, stated Kadernani.
Additionally, 5,000 Kenyans are set to participate in Hajj 2026 which is expected to be around May 24-29, 2026 an increase from Hajj 2025.
“Dear Kenyan Muslim, Hajj is purely a religious affair, unfortunately during the recent Hajj Season some registered Hajj agents falsified documents to produce illegal visas for foreign passport holders violating Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regulations “, added Kadernani.
Further he noted that some agents released fake videos to misinform Kenyans claiming that their relatives were suffering while in Hajj.
“Not only are these videos un-islamic as Mina are of the most sacred sites in islam but they also cost a negative light of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia disregarding all efforts made to ensure a comfortable Hajj experience”, He stressed.
However, they expressed gratitude to Kenyan government for establishing consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia which have played key role in ensuring Kenyans can perform Hajj with close proximity government services whenever necessary.
“We congratulate Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their ongoing efforts to improve and manage Hajj”.
