Jamia’s Century of Legacy Unveiled in Landmark Photo Exhibition

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 29- Jamia Mosque Committee has announced the launch of a special Photo Exhibition commemorating 100 years of Jamia’s remarkable journey, a century of faith, community service and leadership at the heart of Nairobi.

The exhibition will showcase rare and archival photographs capturing Jamia’s transformation from its early beginnings in the 1920s to its present-day role as a spiritual, educational and social pillar within the Muslim community and the nation at large.

This historic showcase will highlight the mosque’s enduring legacy its contributions to religious education, social welfare, civic engagement and its pivotal place in Kenya’s cultural and architectural history. Through curated images, the exhibition aims to celebrate the vision of the founders and the generations who have upheld Jamia’s mission of unity, service and guidance.

Dignitaries, scholars, community leaders and partners who have been part of Jamia’s 100-year journey are set to grace the launch as it will also serve as a platform to reflect on the mosque’s milestones, mark its achievements, and inspire future generations to carry forward its noble legacy.

The Photo Exhibition will be open to the public at the Multi Purpose Hall from 27th October 2025 to 30th October 2025, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the story of one of Kenya’s most iconic religious institutions through imagery and history.
