Kenya’s Neural Labs Africa Secures Spot as Global Semifinalist in “2025 Go Healthy with Taiwan” Competition

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 28 – Kenyan healthcare innovation is making a significant global impact, with Neural Labs Africa being named among the top 21 semifinalists in the highly competitive “2025 Go Healthy with Taiwan” campaign.

The Nairobi-based company successfully stood out from a massive field of 638 proposals submitted from 55 countries to earn its place on the world stage.

The company’s innovative project, “NeuralSight: AI-Powered PACS and Taiwan-Driven Innovation to Bridge Africa’s Diagnostic Gap,” leverages Taiwan’s artificial intelligence (AI) imaging technology to tackle one of Africa’s most pressing healthcare challenges the shortage of affordable diagnostic systems.

Commissioned by the International Trade Administration (TITA) of Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) and executed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), aims to foster global collaboration by linking Taiwan’s world-class technology with local health innovations worldwide.

Innovators selected for the program hail from a wide array of regions, including Argentina, Germany, Kenya and the United States among others, their projects showcase next-generation health solutions, such as AI-powered fitness platforms and specialized smart medical drones these global ventures underscores the integration of pressing worldwide health requirements with the strengths of Taiwan’s high-tech sector.

Neural Labs Africa’s project combines Taiwan’s AI imaging platforms and hardware to create low-cost PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System) solutions the approach shortens diagnostic turnaround time and expands access to radiology services across rural and underserved regions in Africa where diagnostic delays often lead to preventable health crises.

Additionally, By reducing reliance on imported high-cost systems and integrating Taiwan’s precision electronics, “NeuralSight” presents a scalable model for digital transformation in African hospitals.

The solution aligns with Kenya’s Vision 2030 health agenda, which emphasizes equitable access to modern healthcare and innovation-driven medical infrastructure.

Africa’s healthcare market is one of the world’s fastest growing, driven by population expansion and urbanization with increasing demand for AI diagnostics, telemedicine, and smart health monitoring, Taiwan’s technology ecosystem from semiconductors to smart medical devices is poised to play a transformative role in building sustainable health systems across the continent.

Joe Chou, the Vice President TAITRA highlighted that this competition reflects “Taiwan’s commitment to enabling technology-driven health solutions for developing regions.” At the same time TITA Deputy Director General Susan Chi-Chuan Hu described the campaign as “a global invitation to co-create wellness for all.”
