Global Innovators Battle in Taipei as ‘Go Healthy with Taiwan’ Finals Spotlight Breakthrough Health Tech

TAIPEI, Taiwan, Dec 12 – Six visionary teams from countries spanning the globe converged in Taipei, Taiwan, on December 10, 2025, for the grand finale of the prestigious “Go Healthy with Taiwan” Call for Proposals.

The event saw top innovators compete after an initial pool of 638 submissions from 55 countries,including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and other countries from Africa underscoring Taiwan’s rising prominence as a hub for health technology and cross-border collaboration.

The selection of three transformative winning proposals from the United States, Ukraine, and Switzerland, innovations now poised to leverage Taiwanese technology to dramatically shape the future of global health and well-being.

Securing the top honors were the teams hailing from the United States, Ukraine, and Switzerland, each recognized for their groundbreaking contributions in distinct yet equally vital areas: smart healthcare, revolutionary cycling innovation, and seamlessly integrated sports technology.

Their winning proposals demonstrated exceptional promise in leveraging Taiwan’s high-tech environment. To commemorate their achievement and fuel the next phase of development, each victorious team was presented with the symbolic “Infinite Taiwan” themed trophy and awarded a significant prize of USD 30,000 in funding.

Susan Chi-Chuan Hu, Deputy Director General of the International Trade Administration (MOEA) at the Awards ceremony emphasized the campaign’s global significance. She remarked, “Go Healthy with Taiwan is not only a call for proposals; it is a global journey that connects creativity and drives the health industry forward.

Taiwan’s industrial strengths continue to attract worldwide participation, bringing us closer to the shared vision of building a healthier future together.”

Hu reiterated the government’s commitment to fostering innovation, strengthening resilience and sustainability in the health sector, and creating an environment that supports global partnerships.

The six finalist proposals addressed a wide range of pressing global challenges from maternal health and sports technology to sustainable medical systems.

Ukraine: Health system continuity amid geopolitical disruption Switzerland: Sustainable healthcare technologies focused on energy efficiency and environmental impact The winning proposals were recognized for their creativity, scalability, and cross-sector integration key qualities that align with Taiwan’s long-term strategy to strengthen its position in the global health ecosystem.

Joe Chou, Executive Vice President of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) praised the international competitiveness demonstrated by all finalists.

He affirmed that Taiwan will continue serving as a global connector linking innovators, industries and markets to accelerate the worldwide adoption of Taiwan’s health technologies.

This year’s finals, themed “Outstanding Proposals! Racing Toward the Finish Line!”, brought together leaders from government, industry and academia.

Additionally, Representatives from major associations including Robert Wu, Chairman of the Taiwan Bicycle Association and Yung-Chuan Li, Chairman of the Taiwan Medical and Biotech Industry Association joined ambassadors and foreign dignitaries in Taiwan to celebrate the achievements.

This year’s finals, themed “Outstanding Proposals! Racing Toward the Finish Line!”, brought together leaders from government, industry, and academia.

The International Trade Administration (ITA) underscored the strategic importance of the event, expressing sincere hope that the innovative finalists would not only deepen their partnerships with leading Taiwanese companies but also successfully leverage these collaborations and Taiwan’s advanced industrial ecosystem to swiftly bring their transformative health solutions to the international market, maximizing their global impact through cross-border cooperation.

As a long-term initiative, “Go Healthy with Taiwan” aims to build a global innovation platform, strengthen commercial opportunities, and inspire new models for collaborative health development worldwide.
