NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 3 2025 – Hon. Sadia Mohamed Jama “Miss Uunsi” continued her engagement with the Somali community in Kenya toward the end of 2025, focusing attention on the social and political issues affecting Somali Kenyans.
The Somali community represents an important part of Kenya’s social and economic landscape.
From Nairobi to North Eastern Kenya and other parts of the country, Somali Kenyans contribute to business, education, professional services, community development and public life.
Maintaining a direct connection with communities is therefore an important element of public and political engagement.
For Hon. Sadia Mohamed Jama “Miss Uunsi,” community engagement provides an opportunity to understand concerns from different parts of society and to remain connected to issues affecting ordinary people.
Among the issues frequently affecting Somali communities are education, employment opportunities, youth development, economic participation, access to public services and the relationship between communities and public institutions.
The position of Somali Kenyans within Kenya also has a regional dimension because of the close historical and social relationship between Kenya and Somalia.
Movement across borders, trade, family connections and regional security all contribute to the close relationship between the two countries.
Hon. Sadia Mohamed Jama “Miss Uunsi” has consequently been associated with a political environment in which community affairs and regional issues frequently overlap.
Her engagement with the Somali community forms part of a broader effort to remain connected with people and the issues they consider important.
