Sahihi-Bingwa 9th Green Run Edition Champions Sustainability, Community Empowerment and Education Initiatives
KIAMBU, Kenya, May 23 – Sahihi Interior Builders in partnership with Bingwa Handyman Services and Sahihi Buildings Maintenance, successfully hosted the 9th Edition of the Sahihi/Bingwa Green Run & Walk on Saturday May 23.
Held in the scenic landscapes of Gatatha and Cianda, the annual environmental and fitness campaign drew hundreds of participants aimed at promoting sustainable building practices at underserved communities.
Themed “Bingwa Flourishing Humanity,” This year’s edition continues the initiative’s mission of restoring hope and creating opportunities for bright and needy students from tea and coffee plantation communities through education support, mentorship, environmental stewardship, and community empowerment.
Over the past nine years, the Sahihi/Bingwa Green Run has evolved into a powerful grassroots impact movement bringing together corporates, schools, professionals, community leaders, mentors, athletes, cyclists and local residents in support of vulnerable learners and underserved communities.
The event has already contributed to real educational transformation with beneficiaries supported through the initiative have successfully joined and graduated from institutions including Dedan Kimathi University, Technical University of Mombasa (TUM) and the Kenya School of Interior Design. Njihia Njoroge, Founder & CEO of Sahihi Interior Builders and Bingwa Handyman Services noted that, The Green Run is more than a sporting event.
“This is a platform for restoring dignity, creating hope, and building a future for communities that are often overlooked. Every participant, sponsor, mentor and partner becomes part of a larger story of transformation”, said Njihia.
The run featured; 21KM Run, 10KM Run/Walk, 5KM Run/Walk, Cycling routes of 25KM, 50KM and 100KM. The scenic route begun at Gatatha Farmers CofTea Factory and concluded at All Saints High School Cianda, with redesigned sections aimed at reducing tarmac exposure and enhancing participant experience.

Subsequently, the event attracted participation from schools including Cianda Primary, Cianda High School, Gatatha Primary, Githiga High School, Ndumberi Secondary, Ting’anga High School and Kibubuti Primary School.
Mentorship partners Starehe Boys’ Centre and Starehe Girls’ Centre participated, offering mentorship and encouragement to students from the Gatatha community while supporting the event through chaperone participation and student engagement activities.
In addition to the run, the event featured: Winners’ recognition and awards, Student sponsorship and donation activities, Motivational talks and mentorship sessions, Corporate and community networking, Health, wellness and environmental awareness activities.

The event drew robust support from a diverse cohort of partners and sponsors including organizations from the agribusiness, education, wellness, construction, technology and property sectors, with ongoing engagements involving Cianda Estate, Sasini, Norbrook, Kibubuti Flowers, Eden Tea, Karia Roses and Ngorongo Tea Factory among others.
Bingwa Handyman Services, the technology-driven workforce and maintenance platform behind the initiative, continues to champion community empowerment through job creation, artisan digitization and access to economic opportunities across Kenya.
