Spiro unveils strategic developments in manufacturing, market growth, sustainability and Davido collaboration at Africa CEO Forum 2025
ABIDJAN, Ivory Coast, May 16 – Spiro, Africa’s largest electric mobility company, has announced a powerful series of strategic initiatives during the Africa CEO Forum 2025 signaling its intent to transform the continent’s mobility landscape through industrial innovation, market expansion, and sustainability.
Global music icon and entrepreneur Davido who joined Spiro as a brand ambassador and strategic partner A Star-Powered Launch, he Joins Spiro’s EV Revolution the Forum witnessed the unveiling of Spiro’s latest line of electric vehicles co-created with Davido including the limited-edition Davido Collectible and the sleek new Alpha+ by Davido model.
Kaushik Burman, CEO of Spiro emphasized the broader vision noting that bikes are going to be made by Africans, in Africa, for African terrains. This marks the beginning of a renaissance in Africa’s industrial transformation.
ARISE CEO, Gagan Gupta noted that they have partnered to create something that cuts operational costs and supports local economies. Spiro is made in Africa for the world.
Accelerating market expansion across Africa, Spiro officially announced its entry into Tanzania and Cameroon reinforcing its commitment to clean, affordable mobility to support the growth new assembly plants will be established in Uganda, Nigeria, and Rwanda, complementing the operational facility in Kenya.
The developments are central to Spiro’s 100 percent Made-in-Africa strategy Kenya also now hosts Africa’s first AI-powered Smart Factory, leveraging Industry 4.0 to enhance efficiency, component localization, and gender inclusion a standout feature the continent’s first fully women-operated traction motor assembly line, developed through Spiro Academy, the company’s training platform.

In addition, Spiro notes that Digital Innovation and Gender Empowerment Technology and Inclusion remains core of Spiro’s growth with the company launching Spiro Maps, an IoT-powered digital platform built across Kenya, Nigeria and India, In parallel, Agentic AI now supports data-driven operations across Spiro’s ecosystem.
“To foster gender equity, Spiro signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Spiro Academy and SEPHIS Foundation under the Shero Programme which aims to accelerate financial inclusion and support women entrepreneurs in the clean mobility sector”.
Furthermore, as part of sustainability roadmap, the company has introduced a patented second-life battery energy storage solution, repurposing used EV batteries for stationary, decentralized energy applications an important step in expanding Africa’s circular economy, Spiro continues to drive forward with a mission rooted in local value creation, climate action, and inclusive industrial growth.
