Coca-cola turns bus rides into bonding moments for passengers on the move this Madaraka Day weekend

NAIROBI, Kenya, May 31 – The campaign dubbed ‘Share a coke’ relaunched in April 2025 brings back the joy of personalized coke bottles and cans featuring real names.

‘Share a Coke’ originally introduced in 2011, the campaign replaces iconic coca-cola logo with names of Kenyans turning every bottle into a personal invitation to connect and share moments.

Coca-cola is taking the experience even further in Madaraka Day weekend bringing more joy to the travellers on the move as over 1,000 passengers boarding Easy Coach buses to Western Kenya and Kampala will receive two personalised cans one for themselves and one for sharing.

“It’s Coca-cola’s way of turning ordinary trips into memorable journeys filled with smiles stories and shared experiences”. they said.

This year’s campaign is designed with youth in mind with blend of in-person a generation that craves authenticity and real-life moments, with a blend of in person activations and digital engagement, Coca-Cola is creating opportunities for genuine connection in a digital-first world.

Across the country, the ‘Share a coke’ experience has been rolled out at malls, colleges, eateries and public spaces as well as online on TikTok, Instagram and X (formerly Twitter) under the hashtag #ShareAcoke.

In addition, personalized bottles are now widely available in supermarkets, convenience stores and entertainment venues nationwide.

The company is also running similar activation at Jambojet check-in-counters by surprising passengers flying to Mombasa, Ukunda, Malindi and Kisumu with personalized cabs of coke sparking joy from takeoff to touchdown.
